CASE for Kids’ new project coordinator, Cherie Watson, had the opportunity to join science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) advocates and educators from Harris County in a “behind-the-scenes” breakfast with Rear Admiral Jennifer Couture during Houston Navy Week.

Watson, who is actively building external relationships for CASE for Kids and the All-Earth Ecobot Challenge, heard Couture speak on how the Navy advances STEM career participation and engages women and girls in STEM fields.

Representatives from the Mayor’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs were also in attendance to discuss how the City of Houston can support initiatives that encourage young women to participate in STEM activities.

The event was organized by the Texas Girls Collaborative Project (TxGCP), a statewide network of advocates and educators from non-profits, K-12 schools, universities, colleges, and companies across Texas committed to motivating and supporting women and girls to pursue careers in STEM.

CASE for Kids’ All-Earth Ecobot Challenge will be held on April 22, 2023.
