The Education Foundation of Harris County continued supporting local initiatives and building partnerships at recent events.

On Oct. 17, Education Foundation and Partnerships Director Trina Silva and Harris County Department of Education Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz attended Foundation Innovation LLC’s Board2Board Workshop, hosted by the Pasadena Independent School District Education Foundation. The networking workshop brings together foundation board members, trustees, superintendents, staff and directors to learn from each other, share new ideas and learn the importance of local education foundations.

Silva was joined by Dr. John McGee, HCDE board trustee, and Michael Parks, EFHC board trustee, on Oct. 19 for the Urban Enrichment Institute 40th Anniversary Gala. Held at the Royal Sonesta, the gala celebrated the institute’s four-decade history in Fifth Ward as a youth leadership and development program for at-risk males to empower them to become responsible and productive men.
