HCDE Leadership Attends State of the City Luncheon

Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) was well represented at the 2024 Houston State of the City luncheon on Sept. 17 at Hilton Americas. Mayor John Whitmire’s first signature address highlighted recent milestones, new projects and priorities for his administration, including its commitment to community and economic growth. The event also featured performances by local artists highlighting Houston’s diversity.
HCDE served as a sponsor for the event. Representing the Department were: Superintendent James Colbert Jr.; HCDE Board of Trustees President Amy Hinojosa and fellow trustees David. Brown and Andrea Duhon; HCDE Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz; Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment (CASE) for Kids Senior Director Lisa Caruthers; Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC) and Partnerships Director Trina Silva; and EFHC board members Michael Parks and Gina Felton.
