On June 10, more than a dozen Harris County professionals took flight on their journey to become certified teachers. The Center for Educator Success welcomed alternative teacher certification applicants to its three-week Summer Intensive cohort at the Adult Education Learning Center.

Harris County Department of Education and Spring Independent School District candidates will participate in daily lessons on classroom management, instructional planning and content methodologies. The classes provide insight into designing academic curriculums that support varied learning styles and allow applicants to participate in hands-on exercises.

At the end of the course, each cohort member will demonstrate his or her newfound knowledge in a 10-minute comprehensive presentation in front of colleagues, CES staff and district representatives.
