HCDE’s procurement services expertise and leadership was on full display at the 2024 Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) Engage Annual Conference in Houston this week. In addition to attending workshops and visiting with vendors, the Department was acknowledged with two honors during the Award Reception on Wednesday. 

The first award, the TASBO Award of Excellence in Financial Management, was presented to the Business Services division for demonstrating professional standards, best practices and innovations in the areas of financial management and reporting.

The second, the TASBO Purchasing Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations, was presented to HCDE’s Procurement Services division for its commitment to following professional standards in acquiring goods and services. This marks the 14th consecutive year Procurement Services received this award.
