CSSS names Sasha Blake new School Climate and Culture Specialist

Sasha Blake is the Center for Safe and Secure Schools’ new School Climate and Culture Specialist. Blake, a 20-year educator, says the position marries all of her passions, including supporting educators in teacher efficacy, trauma-informed practices, and mindfulness.

“Without even knowing this job [existed], I’ve been preparing for it for so long,” said Blake. “This gives me an opportunity to work with more people, especially teachers. They’re on the front lines with students, and they need the support.  

Blake joins CSSS following her role as assistant principal of Fort Bend Independent School District’s Willowridge High School. Her previous roles in education also include director of student-athlete development for the University of Houston and dean of students for Yes Prep Northside Secondary School.   

Blake received a Master of Arts in Applied Development of Educational Psychology from Boston College and is currently completing a doctorate in education featuring a dissertation in trauma-informed practices and teacher development through Northeastern University.
