The second week of June marked the start of the summer session for all Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) Early Head Start campuses, which includes Compton as the newest – and seventh total – facility to offer services to Harris County students from ages six months to 36 months. Campus Manager Merevonna Ross-Daniel said the first day on June 8 was exciting for students, families and staff.
Compton expanded with an Early Head Start for the first time this summer. The campus joins Barrett, Baytown, Coolwood, Humble, La Porte and Tidwell as centers that offer Early Head Start and Head Start (students ages 3-5) services.
