Some of Harris County’s youngest students were treated to visits from their SuperMENtors the first week of the spring semester, connecting the joy of reading and male mentorship.

SuperMENtors read “Happy Birthday Martin Luther King” by Jean Marzollo this month as part of the Head Start Significant Male Initiative. The program connects male role models with Head Start students – community volunteers join Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) leaders in serving the 12 campuses.

HCDE Superintendent James Colbert Jr. was among SuperMENtors to read this week.
