Harris County Department of Education’s (HCDE) Civic Engagement Team attended an all-day event in Aldine Independent School District titled, “Foundation for Change,” just before the winter break. The event on Dec. 13 connected district high school students with local government leaders and civic agencies. Former Civic Engagement Coordinator Avery Spranger served as a panelist while Civic Engagement Specialist Arnaldo Sandoval-Guerrero showcased how the team works with divisions like Head Start, Adult Education and Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment (CASE) for Kids to connect students and families to civics and voting.
