Education Foundation and Partnerships Director Trina Silva has been busy showcasing Harris County Department of Education’s philanthropic arm, which included speaking to Aldine Independent School District seniors and networking with community partners.

On Oct. 23, Silva spoke to three senior classes at Aldine ISD’s Blanson Career & Technical Education High School. She shared insights from her own career journey and offered practical advice on topics including college and career readiness, soft and people skills, professional presentations and workplace ethics.

She then attended the Association of the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) luncheon, joining EFHC Advisory Board Member Lilliam Folgueira. The association supports Latinos through both education and workforce initiatives.

On Oct. 25, HCDE served as a sponsor at the Asian Chamber of Commerce 35th Annual Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards. Silva was joined by Folgueira and EFHC Board Member Mary Shekari.

Cool article! It’s great to see the Harris County Department of Education stepping into the community and working with seniors at Aldine Independent School District’s Blanson Career & Technical Education High School — sharing career-readiness and people-skills advice is so important.

Also, for anyone in the education field searching for new opportunities, you might wanna peek at academicjobs.com
