Candidate Forum Prepares Houston Voters for November Special Election

Every election is an opportunity to shape the future of our community, and that starts with being informed. As Houston voters prepare for the Nov. 4 special election for At-Large City Council Position 4, it’s important to understand who’s on the ballot and where they stand on the issues that matter to residents.

From left to right: Education Foundation of Harris County Director Trina Silva, Board Member Steven David, HCDE Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz and Civic Engagement Coordinator Avery Spranger attended the Houston City Council Candidate Forum on Oct. 15.

Civic Engagement hosted a City Council Candidate Forum on Oct. 15 to help voters make confident, informed choices. Residents gathered in the Irvington Conference Center to hear directly from the candidates about their priorities, vision and plans for Houston. Spanish interpreters were on hand to guarantee equal access to information, and refreshments and childcare were also provided to ensure everyone could participate.

The Houston League of Women Voters, Houston Voting Initiative, NALEO and Mi Familia en Acción partnered with Harris County Department of Education to sponsor the forum.
