In continuing to best serve Harris County students, the Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment (CASE) for Kids took to the sky for its latest Fall Professional Development Workshop. Program leaders, site coordinators and STEM leads met Oct. 10 for drone training, getting the knowledge and confidence to deliver a top-notch learning experience to both elementary and middle school students.
CASE for Kids Program Coordinator Kiera Hurst led the trainer-to-trainer workshop. The goal is empowering community partners with the tools needed to effectively teach drone safety and flying to Harris County students. The hands-on experience is also set to teach foundational principles of coding, engineering design and aviation.
CASE for Kids is offering nine training courses through December. The next (Oct. 17) focuses on homework, explores best practices to support academic efforts and frames support as an opportunity to build relationships and nurture growth.
