Representatives from Harris County Department of Education’s (HCDE) Center for Safe and Secure Schools (CSSS) and Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC) joined counselors from across the region at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Counselor Summit on Sept 18. Each division sponsored a table at the event, sharing services and resources available to empower counselors to best serve students and their communities. Additionally, Climate and Culture Specialists Michelle Calhoun and Dr. Tiffany Chaney highlighted CSSS and its outreach such as the ‘Thriving, Not Just Surviving’ Symposium, while Education Foundation and Partnerships Director Trina Silva spoke on the Department’s philanthropic arm and initiatives such as EFHC scholarships.
