Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) was well represented at the 2025 State of the County luncheon on Sept. 5 at the Marriott Marquis. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s signature event by the Greater Houston Partnership highlighted recent successes, her priorities, the future of the county, and plans for supporting business partners and workforce pipelines.
Representing the Department were Superintendent James Colbert Jr.; Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz; Education Foundation and Partnerships Director Trina Silva; Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment Dr. Lisa Caruthers; Board President Amy Hinojosa and Trustee Eric Dick. They were joined by Education Foundation of Harris County Board Members Steven David, Mary Shekari and Emma Oliver, and Advisory Board Member Courtney Taylor.
