Harris County Department of Education’s Civic Engagement Coordinator Avery Spranger and Specialist Arnaldo Sandoval-Guerrero recently attended their monthly GenHTX cohort meeting, where they networked with fellow government agencies and nonprofit organizations and continued their work on voter initiatives. Under the umbrella of the Houston Endowment, which provides funding for civic engagement projects, the Collective Action for Youth leverages community power and youth voices to transform systems and create solutions.
GenHTX includes more than 30 organizations working to increase voter engagement efforts, especially among people 35 and under. Monthly meetings provide training and networking opportunities.
