To help invest in the future of their community, HCDE Board Trustee Richard Cantu and Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment (CASE) for Kids Senior Director Dr. Lisa Caruthers joined other notable Houston-area leaders as keynote speakers at the East Aldine District State of the Youth Symposium. Held June 25 at the East Aldine District Office, the symposium featured panel discussions, open forums and keynote addresses to bring awareness, share resources and set plans in action for the future.

Joining Cantu, East Aldine District executive director, and Caruthers as keynote speakers included Dr. LaTonya Goffney, Aldine Independent School District superintendent, and Dr. Chara Bowie, Harris County Precinct 2 executive director of operations. Aldine MacArthur High School graduate Roman Paredes was the symposium’s guest speaker.
