Center for Safe and Secure Schools team members joined leaders across the state at the Texas School Safety Conference in San Antonio on June 22-26. Attendees met and networked with fellow industry colleagues and gained insight on strategies to best serve Harris County stakeholders.
CSSS Director Leslie Etheridge; Officer of School Safety and Security Jeremy Foster; School Safety and Security Specialists Janice Owolabi and Robert Marquez; and Climate and Culture Specialists Michelle Calhoun and Dr. Tiffany Chaney attended the four-day conference, which covered a range of topics. Among them were healthy connections between students and school-based law enforcement, collaborative crisis response and threat assessment, cyber safety awareness, and artificial intelligence and its impact on accurate threat assessments.
