Chief of Staff Speaks at UH Graduation Ceremony, Attends Rice Strategic Plan Reveal

Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz celebrated college graduates at the University of Houston and supported Rice University’s future plans in recent weeks.

On May 1, Bartz served as a guest speaker at the UH Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program Class of 2025 Graduation Celebration. Her message to graduates was that their energy, knowledge and research will be needed in Houston’s workforce.

The next day, she went to Rice University to hear officials present the university’s 10-year strategic plan. Titled “Momentous; Personalized Scale for Global Impact,” the plan aims to expand access marks and Rice’s student population by 30% by 2028, and expand financial aid access through a free tuition program that started in 2019.
