Trina Silva, the Education Foundation and Partnerships director for Harris County Department of Education (HCDE), served as a panel discussion guest on the current state of education at the Latinas in Education Community Event. Held April 24 at the Denver Harbor Community Center, Silva was joined on the panel by Glen Austin, director of public policy for Greater Houston Partnership, and Latinos for Education Executive Director Sandra Rodriguez. The event also featured cooking demonstrations, voting and citizenship presentations, and employment and networking opportunities.
