Academic and Behavior School West recently put a math spin on March Madness. In a bracket-style tournament, 16 classes faced off in daily and weekly challenges that tested their fast facts, real-world problem-solving, accuracy and teamwork.

Principal Jatata Hutton, center, congratulations students from Ms. Hall and Mr. Jackson’s classes and presents them with certificates from the March MATHness tournament.

From buzzer-beater bonus rounds to full-court calculations, students across all grade levels showed off their skills as classrooms came alive with competitive spirit. Students cheered each other on, solved problems as a team and hustled hard to advance through the March MATHness brackets. Yakia Hall and Davion Jackson’s classes were crowned MATHness champions as students earned bragging rights and an ice cream party!

The two-week competition was not just a game, but an opportunity to boost mathematics skills, celebrate academic growth and bring the campus together. With end-of-year testing approaching, educators used the competition to keep students motivated, focused and ready to score big on their tests.
