Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz attended The Park Ball, the Memorial Park Conservancy’s annual gala, on April 10 at the Clay Family Eastern Glades. The event supports the day-to-day care, restoration and preservation of Memorial Park, one of the largest urban parks in the United States (covers nearly 1,500 acres) which sees approximately 4 million visitors annually for events, wildlife watching and recreation. Conservancy President Emeritus Shellye Arnold was the featured honoree. She was celebrated for serving as president and CEO for 11 years before assuming her current role in November and led the charge for an award-winning 10-year Plan that will deliver more than $200 million in improvement by 2028.
