The Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC) collaborated with community partner Kendra Scott for a shopping event where proceeds helped support educational initiatives.
During the Kendra Gives Back event, held Feb. 21 in its City Center, Heights Mercantile and Highland Village locations, and online Feb. 21-22, shoppers were able to find a gift for someone special or themselves this month. A total of 20% of each purchase returned to EFHC for initiatives supporting Harris County’s 25 independent school districts.
A number of HCDE leaders visited the locations to support the initiative, including Danielle Bartz, chief of staff; Jonathan Parker, assistant superintendent for academic support; and Lisa Caruthers, Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment for Kids senior director.
In total, the Kendra Gives Back event raised more than $1,600. Funds from this event will support local schools through teacher supplies, grants and student scholarships.
