Fortis Academy leadership opened the doors to its campus on Jan. 8 to two members of the American Leadership Forum (ALF) Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter. Joining Fortis Principal Travita Godfrey and Culinary Arts Teacher Daisy Alvarez were Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) Assistant Superintendent for Academic Support Services Jonathan Parker and Dr. Charles Ned, Senior Director of Special Schools. They met with ALF Class 62 cohort members Bob Newhouse, a senior human resources and talent executive, and Stan Phill, founder and executive director of A Caring Safe Place, Inc.

ALF connects diverse leaders throughout the Houston area to build relationships, address critical issues and create solutions. ALF member and HCDE Board President Amy Hinojosa welcomed the chapter to the Adult Education Learning Center for its November meeting.
