Eight members of the Center for Educator Success (CES) team combined for three presentations at the Consortium of State Organizations for Texas Teacher Education (CSOTTE) annual conference, held Oct. 13-15 in San Marcos.
CSOTTE is a non-profit organization dedicated to the continual support of development programs for certificated school personnel in Texas. The consortium is an umbrella organization with 10 member organizations.

CES Senior Director Andrea Segraves joined Dr. Chaney Ledet, certification and assessment officer; Sherrie Allen, assessment manager; and Dr. Teryana Lamb, compliance manager, in presenting a session titled “Creating Collaborative District and Educator Preparation Program Partnership: Lessons from the Field.” The division showcased its teacher certification program, partnership with three area school districts and impact of lessons learned. They were joined by Spring Independent School District’s Dr. Alex Gonzalez, assistant superintendent of talent acquisition; Tiffany Weston, director of teacher leadership; and Chevelle Polk, district of innovation coordinator, in sharing their perspective from the district lens.
“The most effective part of our partnership with CES is the relationship we have with them and the relationship the CES team has with our teachers,” Dr. Gonzalez said. “They stay in consistent communication with us and we are able to work together through any barriers that may arise.”

CES Secondary Education Officer Lesley Guilmart and Special Education Manager Nausheen Choudhry led a presentation titled “Practice Makes Progress: Accelerating Teacher Effectiveness Through Practice-Based Coursework.” Recruitment Manager Julie Vu and Officer of Partnerships and Certifications Lauren Gray led a session named “Teacher Pipeline: Identifying Your Clog.”
