Education leaders from across the state traveled to San Antonio on Sept. 27-29 for fellowship, legal updates and to acquire new skills at the Texas Association of School Administrators/Texas Association of School Boards Convention, an annual event providing unique opportunities for school board members, superintendents and key district administrators.  

Superintendent James Colbert Jr. and attorney Sarah Langlois represented Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) while attending several sessions about the state of education in Texas and networking with leaders on best practices as districts prepare for the upcoming legislative session.  

Representatives from the Marketing & Client Engagement and Choice Partners teams provided informational resources to conference attendees about HCDE at the vendor showcase. The group shed light on the Choice Partners National Purchasing Cooperative and how the Department’s divisions serve students and educators in diverse ways.
