Dr. Amezcua Leads Classes at Institute of Supply Management Conference

As an industry expert, Dr. Jesus Amezcua, Harris County Department of Education’s assistant superintendent of Business Services, taught six procurement classes at the annual Institute of Supply Management Rio Grande Valley affiliate Public Education Purchasing Seminar. The conference brings together procurement professionals from school districts throughout South Texas to learn of legislative updates, processes, purchase initiatives and more.

Dr. Jesus Amezcua, HCDE’s assistant superintendent of Business Services, leads a session at thenual Institute of Supply Management Rio Grande Valley affiliate Public Education Purchasing Seminar.

His session topics included expectations from external auditors, purchasing requirements for federally funded grants and evaluating a request for proposal (RFP). 

Following the conference, Dr. Amezcua attended the groundbreaking ceremony and ribbon cutting for the Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success Academy expansion in Brownsville. The K-8 charter school is part of the Tejano Center, a vendor of HCDE Plus, expanded to now include ninth grade.
