Leading up to the 2024-2025 academic year, Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC) and Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) leadership worked to fill a gap for students and families in State House District 141, donating 750 backpacks on Aug. 9. The clear backpacks, required in a number of school districts across Harris County, are outlined in various colors such as pink and blue.

Helping facilitate the delivery was HCDE Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz, EFHC Director Trina Silva and Justin Murillo from the Facilities team. The People’s United Summit nonprofit team received the donation and went to work distributing the backpacks to students and families in need.
