As renovations continue at the Irvington building, the updated third floor was officially revealed to HCDE employees on July 25. Employees toured the renovated space, which houses the Head Start and Center for Educator Success divisions.

Phase two of the building renovations began in late April when the 14,912-square-foot space was gutted and taken down to its studs to create a more modern and functional workspace for the two divisions.

Natural light poured in as #TeamHCDE members walked off the elevators to substantial structural changes, showcasing the additional offices added by architects in the new design.

The floor’s new layout features all new carpet, paint and wallpaper. Updated cubicles and furniture fall in line with the sleek new design, and new LED lighting, a new fire sprinkler system and upgraded HVAC controls were added for better climate control.

While Hurricane Beryl delayed the start of phase three, employees on the second floor finished packing and will move to their temporary locations next week. Phase three of the renovation project has an estimated completion date of November.
