The Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC) helped sponsor a number of community engagement events May 9-10 in its ongoing efforts to garner support for Harris County learners.
Board of Trustees First Vice President Amy Hinojosa, EFHC Director Trina Silva and HCDE Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz were joined by additional HCDE and community leaders at the Greater Houston Partnership State of Education Luncheon on May 9 at the Royal Sonesta. Dr. Rodney E. Watson, Region 4 executive director, delivered the keynote and provided an overview of the state of education across the Houston region.

On the same day, #TeamHCDE put on a show in Cypress at the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation B.F. Adam Golf Classic at BlackHorse Golf Club. The golf tournament team included Superintendent James Colbert, Jr., Assistant Superintendent for Academic and Support Services Jonathan Parker, and Assistant Superintendent of Education and Enrichment Dr. CJ Rodgers.
On May 10, Silva joined the representatives from the Humble Independent School District Education Foundation at Hidden Hollow Elementary School to award a $10,000 Partners in Education Grant to Humble ISD for a STEM for All Camp. The grant was approved by the EFHC Board of Trustees in April.
