Renovations began in December to install a new roof, replace the current heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, and make additional improvements to meet current city building code regulations.

Employee conversations during the reveal surrounded the 180-degree flip and renovation of HCDE’s board room and new conference room for private sessions. Construction crews also installed a new dais equipped with personal monitors, which will allow each trustee to easily view important information and presentations.

The superintendent’s suite now boast a state-of-the-art audio-visual system for enhanced communications and meetings with division leaders. Additionally, technology is at the forefront throughout the floor, with new systems implemented to streamline operations and connectivity. Each workspace now features temperature gauges credited to the modern HVAC system, ensuring personalized comfort for employees.

Members of the Center for Educator Success and Head Start divisions housed on Irvington’s third floor are currently packing their offices in preparation for phase two of renovations. Construction plans include demolishing walls, updating ceiling fixtures and improving fire suppression systems. Facilities and Information Technology Services (IT) will continue holding regular meetings to ensure the building retains floor access and technology infrastructure during the remodeling. Phase two of the renovation is expected to be completed this summer.
