HCDE left an impression at the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators’ 39th annual conference this week in Houston, from various sessions led by HCDE leaders, to delicious culinary creations by our very own Fortis Academy students.

Dr. CJ Rodgers, assistant superintendent of education and enrichment, joined representatives from the Research and Evaluation Institute and Center for Safe and Secure Schools divisions, and Academic and Behavior School (ABS) West in leading sessions.

In conjunction with the TABSE Conference, HCDE Chief of Staff Danielle Bartz joined 26 school district and educational leaders across Texas highlighted at the 10th annual Dining with Divas event on Feb. 29. The leadership and mentoring event recognized the Dining with Diva honorees for their dedication and advocacy for education. Students in the Fortis Academy culinary program created diamond-shaped cookies topped with royal icing for the special occasion.
