Harris County Department of Education is proud to join the nation in celebrating Black History Month, a time to pay tribute to the immense contributions of generations of Black Americans and other people of African descent.

Throughout the month, the Department’s social media channels will celebrate several employees who are making strides to propel public education. As the country marks the 98th year of officially celebrating Black History Month, individuals will share the importance of upholding the rich histories, resilience and love for Black culture.

HCDE’s Special Schools and Head Start division will also celebrate with various events, programs and curricula.
