Family-Friendly Spring Break: Houston Edition

Spring Break is next week, and students and teachers will relish the time off. If you’re looking for activities to keep children engaged during the break, check out this list of free or cheap activities taking place across the Houston area.

Houston on the Cheap provides a list of free or cheap activities during Spring Break every year. From museums to kids’ camps to the Galveston Historical Foundation’s many attractions, families can find a wide variety of options that fit their budgets and interests.

365 Things to do in Houston also provides an updated list of family-friendly events and attractions weekly. Their lists include area workshops, arts and crafts classes, pop-up events, and more.  

Through March 19, the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards art exhibits sponsored by Harris County Department of Education are free and open to the public. Gold and Silver Key art from Harris County teens in grades 9-12 are on display at Spring Street Studios.
