The number of participating students grows as HCDE adult learners who have gained their GEDs throughout the school year reply to take part in the popular commencement. Last year over 100 students participated.
HCDE Communications and Creative Services will be streaming Facebook Live throughout the ceremony. The commencement speaker will be Michele Paul, executive director of Capital Idea Houston. Paul is a life coach who is a popular motivational speaker.
Graduates will arrive early for photos, media interviews and networking, but the commencement is set from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
About HCDE Adult Education: With a 30-year track record, HCDE Adult Education provides classes to adult learners with a goal to “learn to earn,” including adult basic literacy and math skills, GED, English as a second language and vocational training. Classes are held in 35 community locations throughout Harris and Liberty counties as HCDE serves over 8,000 adult learners.
