With Santa in tow and enough gifts to fill two vehicles to the brim, Highpoint School students and staff delivered plenty of festive cheer to all the young learners at Tidwell Head Start just before the winter break. The initiative came from the school’s boys group, called The Shop, which is led by teachers Enri Harrell and Kadrien Mosley. They put together a toy drive and Highpoint staff answered the call by donating 70 brand-new toys – more than enough for each Tidwell student.

Students wrapped the gifts and five members of The Shop visited Tidwell on Dec. 17. First, they read to each classroom, an initiative the group started a year ago to the Head Start center less than four miles from Highpoint. Then – with one Highpoint student dressed as Santa – the group passed out presents to every Tidwell student.
