HCDE Partners with Harris County Sheriff’s Office for School Safety Forum 2019

Save the date for the School Safety Forum 2019 Oct. 15 at 6300 Irvington as the Center for Safe and Secure Schools partners with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to help improve school security.

The workshop empowers students, teachers, parents and the community with tools needed to recognize, respond to and prevent acts of violence. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez is the featured speaker.

Topics to be included:

  • Emergency preparedness
  • Vulnerabilities in schools
  • Gang awareness
  • Mental health awareness
  • Threat Assessment Awareness and Actions
  • School safety updates from the Texas Legislature
